1. Eat less
Eating less will lead to your metabolism shutting down. It will result in a weight loss plateau when done for an extended time. Has a high risk of weight rebound. You have a massive energy dip as well.
2. Move more
Exercising is great but you cannot out exercise a bad diet. Use it to compliment your weight loss journey along with nutritious foods.
3. All calories are equal
Not quite. A calorie from a carbohydrate is metabolized very differently from a protein calorie. A calorie from candy gets digested much quicker, can cause you to get hungry and result in overeating. A paneer calorie is more filling and will lead to your body using more fuel to metabolise it. It'll help with muscle building too.
4. Calorie deficit alone will cause weight loss
Calorie deficit is important but with cases like insulin resistance, PCOS, thyroid and other lifestyle issues, the root of weight gain is not the quantity of food that has been eaten. It requires a different approach.
5. Eat 5-7 meals daily
Every time you eat, you spike your insulin. Insulin as a hormone does not allow for fat burning to happen in its presence. The more often you eat, the more often you spike your insulin.
6. Fat makes you fat
Fats are very satiating in nature. A large part of your body is made out of fats too. Your body needs fats to metabolize key vitamins. If you keep the quantity under check, they can help you with your weight loss.
