Weight loss truths and myths

Weight loss is a combination of several factors and there are a lot of myths out there. Busting a few of them here:


Truth:

1. Exercise is important: Unquestionably. It's important to stay active.


Myth:

2. You can outexercise a bad diet: Did you know that exercise accounts only for 85% of your weight loss results? Without the right nutrition, exercise alone will help you go only so far in your weight loss journey.

3. Carbs are important for the body: True, carbs are important for a variety if functions in the body.


Myth:

4. You need a ton of carbs: Did you know all the carbohydrates that you need for your body to function can be supplied by the vegetables that you take on a daily basis? The challenge with too many carbs is that it can actually slow down the fat burning process. In the presence of carbohydrates the body produces insulin which is a fat storing hormone.

5. Calorie deficit works for weight loss: colon true calorie deficit is important


Myth:

Calorie deficit alone will give healthy weight loss results: Theoretically speaking, you could also lose weight on pizzas and burgers if you remain within the calorie budget for your weight loss journey. But if the goal is to create a healthy weight loss, it is important to ensure that you get the calories from sources that are nourishing. After all, a calorie from a broccoli is very different from a calorie from a candy.
